Online RN to BS Application Information |
The RN to BS program is currently
only available to nurses who are residents of Colorado, members
of Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) or employed by Presbyterian Health Systems, Inc. in New Mexico.

- Online Application Only: Applications must be submitted online. Payment of application fee must be mailed to the College of Nursing at the address below.

- Application Deadlines: All application materials must be in the office of the College of Nursing by the deadline dates below. If a deadline falls on a weekend or a holiday, the deadline is extended to the next working day.
September 1 for Spring
January 1 for Summer

- Overall GPA Required to Apply = 3.00 or better
The recommended overall GPA for ALL college/university course work for the RN to BS program is 3.00 or better. Applicants with an overall GPA of less than 3.00 may also apply if all of the prerequisites/electives are completed before the requested start term.
- 10 Year Time Limit on Prerequisites
Prerequisites (and electives for applicants without a bachelor’s degree) must be no older than 10 years by the application deadline. Applicants may request a waiver of this policy by submitting a written request. This request can be mailed with the application fee to the address in item #1 above.
- TOEFL Test Required for All Applicants with a Primary Language other than English
It is the policy of the College of Nursing to require all applicants to the College whose primary spoken language is not English to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores as part of the application process. (All international applicants to the College of Nursing must submit a TOEFL score.) Effective July 1, 2009, a total score of at least 560 on the paper-based TOEFL and 50 or above on the Test of Spoken English (TSE), 220 on the computer-based TOEFL and 50 or above on the TSE, or 83 on the Internet-based TOEFL with 26 or above on the Spoken portion is required. Potential applicants that do not currently meet the minimum TOEFL requirement may participate in the College’s free English as a Second Language (ESL) workshops that are offered on Saturdays throughout the school year. Current students, faculty and staff at the College of Nursing may also participate in the ESL workshops at no cost.
- Proof of Nursing School Accreditation
If you received your associate degree in nursing from a school outside of Colorado, you must provide proof of NLN accreditation for the date that you graduated. Proof can be provided by the school you attended or by the accrediting agencies. Be sure the dates of accreditation cover the date that you graduated.
- Firm Deadlines: All parts of the application are due in the College of Nursing office by the required deadlines listed in item #2
- Applicant Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the applicant to plan ahead to ensure that all parts of the application arrive at the College of Nursing by the deadlines.
